Echoing Green Suffer no More

Wow, I know this site is not dedicated to music but I have to share this. Someone at my office brought in this dance CD that they just got from a band that I never heard of called the Echoing Green. It is a mix (no pun intended) of synth, techno, house, 80's type new wave and modern dance/pop music rolled into one jubilant party soundtrack. To be honest I can't stand most of the current stuff that passes as music these days, and the fact that I never heard of this band doesn't mean much since it is not my genre, however the Echoing Green deserves your attention and airplay on the radio. I also know that there are many out there who refuse to pay for music - you know who you are- but make an exception and go to I-Tunes or Amazon.com and check out the Echoing Green. The latest CD will make a great Stocking stuffer or download the Suffer CD to your I-Pod and listen on the morning jog. It will get you going. Not sure why they called the CD Suffer. You would expect something dark and heavy. Their music is nothing like that at all.

So, with that, have a Merry Christmas!

Who is the hot guy in the suit at eMarketing.com

I recently went to the eMarketing website and noticed that it changed. There is a hot guy in a suit saying something... to be honest I don't even pay attention because this guy is so hot. His eyes, his haircut, the way he looks in that suit...
Ok, on my 10th visit to emarketinginc.com I listened more closely to his dreamy voice and found out that the agency is asking people for help to change their name from emarketing to something else. If you go to the site, you can submit your ideas. I only have one question. Are they serious? I mean what kind of marketing company needs help coming up with a new name? They are in markteing for crying out loud. Shouldn't they be experts in that? It must be some kind of publicity stunt. Either way, I don't care because the guy in the suit at emarketinginc.com is so hot!

America's Ugliest Office - Clean it up!

So, who has an ugly office? What makes an office ugly? is it the mess? is it the piles of unorganized papers? Is it the furniture or paint color on the walls?

We have all seen them and it is high time we do something about them. ACCO has developed a new fiendish plot along with their henchmen Prizelogic to see who has the ugliest office in America and severely torture them for making the rest of us suffer. What makes this so evilly ingenious is it looks like a great contest. Several "winners" will be instantly selected. One of the "prizes" is a TV. The television emits a low frequency subliminal message that is constantly transmitted through the speakers which will program you to buy more office products from ACCO Brands. This is crazy! They already control 90% of the office product market. You will uncontrollably go out and buy a chrome plated stapler from Swingline, and you will pass the Quartet whiteboards and start to feel frisky and have an uncontrollable urge to buy a pack of EndurGlide dry erase markers and some GBC report covers. You will get home and not know why you have spent your entire paycheck on all of the products, only that they make you happy.

If that is not enough, the grand prize is a trip to Maui for two! Oh the humanity! The so called winners -these people with the pig sties for cubicles; the ones with the suffocating smells, the holiday decorations for every holiday up on every square inch all year long because they are too lazy to take them down; they will be subjected to all sorts of evil torture like eating a stuffed pig on a beach while the locals dance half naked with fire in front of them. If they survive that ordeal they will be placed in the ocean on a skinny board surrounded by hungry sharks.

If this is you, save yourself from the punishment. If you have an ugly office, are you a winner? Is this something to aspire to? Is this how your mother raised you? NO! I say clean your office! organize all the papers and drawers. Throw out the trash. Take down all of the holiday decorations. Fumigate if you have to, to get rid of that smell. But where will you put all of the clutter and crap once your office is clean? Put it in the next cubicle; your co-worker probably won't even notice. Let them be punished, uh, I mean win America's Ugliest Office Contest.

Office Olympics

With companies trying all kinds of tactics, events, and promotional items to increase loyalty, team spirit and so on. Has anyone ever considered holding an office olympics? Think about what the events could be. There could be office chair races, a staple the paper event, shooting paper clips event. There could be a paper football or paper airplane event etc. These could revolve around regular office tasks. Different departments could be the teams, you could even set up competition between your competitors. This was just a thought I had as a different way to bring some creativity and life into what is normally a mundane environment for many of us.

Southwest Airlines DIng, Ding, Ding

Southwest Airlines has continued to be my favorite airlines ever since it's humble beginnings at Love field and the incredible visonary leadership of Herb Kelleher. They now have yet another reason to stay loyal. a new desktop widget that delivers even deeper savings on Southwest Airlines Air fares. If that was not enough, they have an online game called Win with Ding, that was developed by PrizeLogic. The team at PrizeLogic are great at creating online contests, and games. So check out the game and have some fun to break up your day at the office.

Acco Rules the World

Have you ever thought about the office products you buy for your home or your company? Have you thought of where they all come from? Go into any Staples, or Office Depot or Office Max and 90% of what you see is from ACCO! Who are they? We all know Swingline staplers. We all use Quartet whiteboards at our jobs or atleast have them hanging up in the conference room. We all use the Wilson Jones folders and GBC paper Shredders or lamination kits etc. See my point? It all comes back to ACCO! Where are the competing products? I think it is a conspiracy by ACCO to eventually rule the world. They have spies and highly skilled ninjas eliminate the competition to make way for a new ACCO Office World Order. Even the expo dry erase marker which we have all come to love with their fruity smelling ink is in danger. Quartet, the only maker of the dry erase whiteboards in the world after a competing company had a mysterious fire in a production facility which the fledgling company could not recover from. Well now Quartet is flooding the market with a new dry erase marker called EnduraGlide (yeah I know what your thinking...) It lasts twice as long as the expo markers and even has a window in the barrel so you can see when you are low on ink!!! A partner in ACCO's qwest for world domination is this Sampletize. They posted a form so people could get a free sample four pack of these EnduraGlide dry erase markers. God only knows how many of these markers were given out, but Expo has to be worried at this point. Who's next?
